Blue Hexagon’s ‘mission based’ team building event is a unique and dynamic one-day course for teams of 8 or more. It’s based on a powerful blend of military and Agile principles. Each mission is successfully achieved by setting goals, testing processes and refining until the team is ready to execute. This method draws out valuable leadership behaviours expected from any high performance team. We base all of our events on the Blue Hexagon framework then, with your input, tailor each event to the needs of your team.
PERFECT PREPARATION
“If you fail to prepare, you prepare to fail.” Everyone has heard that saying, yet the ability to properly plan and prepare is still lacking among many teams. Each aspect of ‘Mission One’ highlights the vital importance of thorough planning and preparation and will help individuals and teams improve this critical skill.
EXCEPTIONAL TEAMWORK
Underperforming teams are quickly exposed when the going gets tough. ‘Mission One’ has been developed to encourage team members to work together better, and to rely on each other. The different phases of the missions can only be completed successfully if the team works together efficiently and effectively.
FAULTLESS COMMUNICATION
Without clear and timely communication, a team cannot operate effectively. All members of the team will develop their listening skills and deliver clear and continual communication throughout every phase of the mission. This will ensure each person’s role is synchronised to help deliver the overal plan.
FOCUSED DECISION MAKING
Being unable to make sound decisions while under pressure can be fatal (both physically and for reputations). ‘Mission One’ simulates a range of high-pressure environments in which the team will need to keep cool, remain focused and think logically. This key capability will be tested and improved over the course of the day.
INDIVIDUAL RESPONSIBILITY
Any team member who does not fulfil their responsibility will compromise the whole operation. During the mission, the team members will each be given specific roles and responsibilities. The successful execution of each role is key to the team achieving their overall objective.
